Preparation for conference 2015

September 17, 2015
Friends, families and supporters,
Well we are here in Malawi warm and comfortable in the home of Rackson and Grace. We left Pensacola on time and full of energy. We reached Atlanta and had just enough time to get to our departing plane. The flight to Johannesburg was shorter than in the past only 15 hours and forty minutes(no additional stop). Every seat was full. It was an uneventful flight and when we arrived we were not so full of energy. For some reason we got by security and went straight out to waiting hotel rooms at the airport. The three of us were more hungry than tired so after check in we found a great restaurant called Muggs and Beans ate and headed back to our rooms. I must say they were wonderful rooms but very cold and that made taking a shower less than fun. Both Sheila and I had a fitful night’s sleep do to fatigue and time change. I am very grateful that we put in a wakeup call for 0630 for when the phone rang we were dead to the world. We were up and dressed and then I spent a fair amount of time trying to wake up Taylor, man that kid can sleep. Sheila remembered that by by-passing evening security and not getting our boarding passes we were in for a hard time getting on our plane. We went to the same restaurant as the night before and had a very good breakfast and went to face the music. I don’t believe what followed, we went to security (TSA) and explained what took place the night before, they were very friendly and apologized for not having us sign the log to by-pass having a boarding pass and let us through to the ticket area where the lady issued our passes and made sure our bags were indeed on the plane and there was no charge for the extra bags, in fact there was no charge for any of the bags. A savings of about $300.00. We boarded on time for our last leg of the trip to Malawi and being reunited with my family. What a wonderful meeting in the airport and drive home. We rested a little while and then began the unpacking process. Grace prepared a meal of fried chicken and chips and later biscuits and hot tea. We had no electricity but water so I had a nice shower and it was bed time.
We all got up early this morning. We had hot water so I took another hasty shower and got ready for prayer and bible study, Taylor led in both and it was very good. After breakfast we went downtown Blantyre for shopping for food, minutes for the phone, minutes for the computer and sat around the dining room table when we got back home and started our planning for the upcoming work. Much to do and I am ready to go. No electricity this afternoon but had it long enough to get dinner finished. Rackson started the generator and all is good. We will head for bead soon as we have a full day tomorrow and I don’t want to miss any of it. So I will sign off till next time sending my love and prayers to all of you.
W. Charles (Chuck) Miller along with Sheila and Taylor say good night.
